The New Digs

I realized I didn't show you all the pics of the new house. Luckily, there's not much that needs to be done. Although, not much seems to take a LOT of time. I've been stripping wallpaper for about 4 days now. It's kinda ridiculous!

Anyway....

Our First House

Here's the front yard. You've seen that. The tree with no branches on the right now has bright white flowers and a really bad smell. Also, it leaves little flower droppings EVERYWHERE. You can sweep and sweep and sweep and there are more flowers. It's pretty but I kinda hope it ends soon.

Kitchen 2

The kitchen. Notice the feather wallpaper from hell. UGH! It is my nemesis.

House- Wallpaper

See???

House- Kitty Nook

Fireplace. I think that little nook is supposed to be for wood. But it makes such a nice kitty bed.

Living Room To Kitchen

Formal living and dining room.

Brian's Office

Brian's office. Hurray for built-ins. Otherwise, he would have tried to steal my desk.

Guest Room

The true spare room. The old owners LOVED built-ins. They are really nice quality. So we feel lucky. Plus, all the appliances came with- even the washer and dryer. Thank goodness! Saved us so much money!!!

Vacuum System

There's even a central vacuum. Brian really loves this.

House- Which Office Color

I'm picking colors for my office/studio.

House- Brian the Gardner

Meet my gardener, Brian.

Garden- Lemons

You want lemons? We have lemons!

Garden- Rosebuds

And the roses are on their way. Hopefully the herbs grow big and strong!

House- Sun Spots

The kitties are adjusting. Although, mostly they are just sun spot lumps.

I love your new place. I agree the wallpaper is a little ehh lol. I am glad you get to keep your desk. I can see the lemon recipes in the works now from your lemon tree. Central vac rocks. Can't wait to see what color you choose for your office.

the place looks awesome -- I love the little windows above the kitchen into the other rooms - and don't you think feathered wallpaper is appropriate, given your blog? It's the universe mocking you :-)

Love the lemons! My sister sends em from Berkeley sometimes - way beats puke on the walkway (eeeeeeeeeeew) hope no one saw you snapping that one!

What a great house!!! Though I agree, that feather wallpaper had to go. And what could be better than a house with a built in kitty bed?
Much happiness!!

Love the new place. After helping my grandma wallpaper one to many times I absolutely hate it and will never use it in my house....*shudder* That brings back bad wallpaper memories. I feel your pain.

I knew the kitties would adjust as soon as they found the sunny spots. :)

Cat bed next to the fireplace! Your new place is phenomenal. I envy your kitchen counters, my cats are looking at me reproachfully. 'When are we getting a cat bed by the fireplace?' they seem to be saying.

Gorgeous house :) I am also now envious of your lemons. And what is a central vacuum?! I know you didn't ask, but I vote for the paint on the left. And I love that you have an old school push mower. Better for the environment!

I'm jealous of all the cabinet space in your kitchen! I like the paint on the left better than the right.

Love the built-ins! And there's even a kitty nook, nice!

Have you tried the water+fabric softener in a spray bottle trick on the wallpaper? I saw it on HGTV once and the paper practically fell off the walls!

Oh Nell, I'm so happy for you! I know that it seems overwhelming - I read your last post too, and had to chuckle about checking to see where your other half had gone - but it will be SO worth it! It's exciting hearing about your house. I've definitely missed your posts!

What a lovely house! Central vac? so cool! And a kitty nook - awesome!

My high school had those smelly white flower trees ALL over the place. You're right, they stink like crazy and the bees love them. Hate bees.

Great new place.

I wish I had central vac! My parents have it. Just glad I have central air! I'll take that first!

Can't wait to see your office furnished!

Love the kitty nook. We the same thing in our den, we have a backrest pillow shoved in there so the kids don't go in there!

Your new place looks beautiful. I love the cool features. Kitty bed...adorable, I bet they love the nook.
I do not envy you the wall paper duties. I have been avoiding looking at any homes with wallpaper. Definately not a fan!!
