Springy Socks

On Ravelry, the Socks that Rawk forum is holding a KAL focused on the leyburn sock pattern. Most of you who read this are already signed up and knitting. The idea is to get as many colorways of STR knit up in this pattern. Turtlegirl is moderating the group and keeping track of which color each person is using.

I went stash diving and found this.

STR Lightweight- Goody Goody_edited

STR Lightweight in Goody Goody. When wound on Tuesday night, it turned into this.

Goody Goody Ball

And by the end of the evening, I had 5 inches of sock.

Leyburns- Goody Goody

These socks are literally FLYING off my needles. Minty is a genius I tell ya!

A couple things I'm learning while knitting these up.
1. I still don't LOVE the color. It's knitting up beautifully. The fabric is fabulous but the colors just aren't me. Don't worry, I'll still wear them.
2. Judy's Magic Cast On... Where have you been all my life?!?!?!?
3. I have too many things on my needles. I can see "Finish it February" in my future.

I'm not normally a pastel fan, but that is the right yarn for the right pattern...love the way the sock is coming along. Really beautiful!

Beautiful. After you first talked about this KAL, I added Leyburn to my favorites. After seeing your sock and the Yarn Harlot's, I think I may have to move it to my queue. I have never done a toe up, but how hard can it be? Great job!

I'm not much into pastels, but those really are knitting up beautifully! And you've discovered the er, magic, of the Magic Cast-on, too. It's like the first time you do kitchener and you think, my god that is BRILLIANT!

If only the world's problems could be solved as swift and elegantly as the JMCO solves the toe up cast on.

I prefer more saturated hues, but that toe looks like Easter come early! Yummy enough to eat.

It's just plain gorgeous.

I like how the pattern looks in that yarn. What size needles are you using?

I think they look great! If you decide not to wear them, I know someone who will. ;)

Ooo, those are great. I, too, am not so fond of the pastels, but those colors just flow together so well.

I love this colorway. I was wearing my Goody Goody Gumdrops yesterday, in fact.

Love how it looks in the Leyburn pattern.

Wow! I may actually knit that yarn after all. I haven't liked anything else I've seen that yarn knitted into and honestly I don't even like looking at it hanging on my wall. But it's quite pretty in the Leyburns! That pattern really does make everything look good.

You know, when we received this colorway, I was very disappointed. The whole year in STR had not thrilled me (until the last two shipments). But seeing your leyburns give me hope that maybe someday I'll like the colorway enough to knit it. Thanks for showing it in a great pattern!

Now, those are gorgeous socks. I am a sucker for pastels, but only sometimes. Since I've got spring in my sights, the timing is about right. They're very Easter-y.

I do like Goody Goody but it's not a color for me. I'm not a real pastel'ish kinda gal, so I get where your coming from.
