I Want

My Want List is growing and growing. Why does this always happen when I have the least amount of money???

So here's the list...

To go see Yarn Harlot in Petaluma tomorrow night. Unfortunately, it's about an hour and a half drive and I'm swamped with school work. Maybe next time she's in Cali it'll be closer or I won't be as busy.

A Palm TX- Apparently this is the new, hot nursing gear. You can load in drug guides, medical dictionaries and lots of other cool stuff. Plus, my school is all wired for WiFi. So I could blog in class! Just kidding... sort of. $300

A Printer. Yeah- this copy card in the library thing is getting a little old. I don't have a printer because I usually just emailed stuff to myself at work to print out. Around $100, maybe less.

Pants that fit. Sigh.... $50? for a couple pair?

A new dresser. I just haven't had time to get to this. Even though my old one has been broken for more than a year. $189

That totals around $650. Nope. Can't have it all. The printer might become a need pretty soon. And I can live without the dresser..... I just have to figure out how to work the Palm into my budget.

This will be especially tricky since the insurance company might call my car a total loss. I have a 1997 Honda Civic with 143,000 miles on it. It runs great. I never have any problems. Unfortunately, the damage from the accident was a little more extensive that I thought. One of my quarter panels is dented. Don't ask me what that means but it's bad. And no matter how well the car runs, it's old and has a lot of miles. That means it might cost more to fix it than the car is worth. I'd really prefer to just charge the other guy's insurance but we'll see. I was all panicked about it yesterday. And I dreaded telling Brian when he got home. He just looked at me and said, "So the worst thing that happens is we have to buy another car. Don't worry about it." He said it like it was no biggie. Seriously, he ALWAYS comes through for me when I'm freaking. Love that man. Hopefully the insurance company decides I can keep my car. But I'm not hopeful.

Do you know, i have a very similar list. I am going to be in a similar situation to you in September, with a new dream job, except dream job pays hardly enough to live on. Grrr. Boy is agreeing to help me too. Aren't they good. So, I'm with you on this post!

I just wish I could find a pair of pants that actually fit!

I have a wish list a mile long and not enough money to go around to do it all. I gave up finding pants that fit right. I'd go with a laser printer unless you want to print color. The laser toner cost more up front but they last a lot longer and cost less in the end....ink jet printers run out of ink fast....speaking from major experience there! :~)
Sounds to me like Brian is a great guy!

My doctor has one of those palm medical doo-hickies, and it does seem pretty cool. Dang!

Best wishes on your car situation too - it can be so nerve-wracking, even without the money part of it!

Oh no! There are a lot of not so pleasant things happening. Too bad about the printer--I had one and gave it away on Saturday:( I think craigs list is good idea sometimes you come across some great finds. Sometimes you can find them on the homeshopping channels on easy pay. Might give you a break from paying all at once.

There is one thing happening next week. A blogger buddy and I are trying to arrange a Knitters/Crafters meetup at Dolores park for their Movie Night in the park on Thursday.

Yea, I was going to suggest craig's list, too. But for everything, even the nurse palm pilot thingy. And ebay, of course.

As for the car, if you do need a new one, go see a car broker. Not a dealership. Seriously. We went to a dealership for our last car and wasted 4 hours over 2 days playing BS games. We bailed on it and went to a car broker. They have new and used cars. w/i 20 minutes we had the car, color, and the same dealership deals we were looking for. Bing. Bam. Boom. Done.

Also, dresser deals are big at garage sales this time of year!

Good luck!

That's a drag about your car...I'm kind of attached to my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder with 145,000 miles on it - I would be sad to see it go, even sadder to see a car payment. I have had some "hot" cars (waaaay back in the day) - but man, the trusty thing deserves serious respect after 7 years of my reckless driving, huh? Good luck with you wish list!
