WARNING! This picture is not for the faint of heart!

I was happily knitting along on my "Here there be Dragons" socks. I got to the heel and was told to K3tog. Now, I'm a little bit of a tight knitter. And suddenly I heard a snap...

Sadness

Lantern Moon Ebony dpn's Size 1. I got them in a trade before Christmas.

I don't want to talk about it. Sigh...

Ouch. I know how you feel. I snapped one of my needles working on a pair of socks for my daughter. It was a painful experience. Thankfully I haven't done it again.

Oh dear...that hurts! I did the same about 24 hours after I bought mine own ebony needles...I got them in an effort to find a harder wood since I am such a tight knitter also - clearly, I had to add them to my loser pile - have yet to find a keeper (I just blame the needles!)! I now have an assortment to make up a set:) Good luck! :)
