Meltdown

Today was a tough one. I had 2-three hour lectures, 1 midterm, and a career fair. The test did not go well. (OK- I got a B) The career fair turned into me getting free pens while I was referred to the website of each hospital to apply for jobs. And while we were waiting to leave after the midterm, I lost it. I just burst into tears. Too much stress built up plus hating the classes I'm currently in. It all lead to me sobbing in the bathroom for a few minutes. I don't want sympathy. I just want you to know that I finally broke. I admit it. I just wish I hadn't been dressed up in interview clothes (career fair) when the breakdown came.

It's all OK. I'm good. Seriously. I just needed to let it out. And now, Spring Break has come. No crazy trip to Cabo for me. Lots of school work and sleeping late.

I'm hoping to get lots done. And lots of posts. I know I've been absent in the last few weeks. I promise to be better. There's only 2 months left in school. Can you believe it???? Me neither. Now I just need to land a great job. Hopefully before I graduate. Cross your fingers! The end is near!

If possible, I'd squeeze in a retail yarn therapy pick me up! How nice would a little yarn in the mail be next week to get you through :) (oh wait, RSC next week!)

You need a ticker for the countdown til your done!! I know you can do it!

Everyone has a moment like that when they are about to leave school and looking for a job. It is a graduation requirement. They don't tell you about it, but it is. I clearly remember bursting into tears during a Bar Prep course and having to excuse myself (no one noticed...they were all too frozen by their own terror at the prospect of law school debt and failing the Bar). So normal. I agree with the above prescription of some retail yarn therapy (doesn't have to be expensive...just yarny). Good luck and enjoy Spring Break!

Hang in there, you can do it! I really admire you for going back to school and doing all this. Breakdowns are totally normal...I know I'd be right there with ya if it were me.

I also concur with the suggestions of yarn-shopping therapy. ;) Or hey, maybe give yourself a case of startitis, and just go start any of the projects you've been eyeing! That way you'll have choices when you want to knit, no matter what mood you're in. :)

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a B. But try to take care of yourself and RELAX! You'll be done soon, yay!

I prescribe a nice, hot, relaxing bubble bath. Light some candles around, some wine if you drink wine, and a good romance (non school book) and soak the stess away. Might want to put a couple of yarn skeins too around to make you smile!:) Ohhh how I remember school meltdowns! Sending you a hug!

what's the use of a career fair if they just tell you to go tot he website? It's like THEY have gotten lazy.

ugh. yer not alone, loads of us just burst into tears when that stuff happens. Or some of us just freak out and go for a run right after a midterm and leave everything behind including expensive art history books.

go home get yourself some brew and sit down and listen tot he silence and drink the beer. it WILL make you feel sane again even if for a few minutes.

I had a similar day yesterday - sometimes you just have to let it out - hope you are feeling better! I can't believe how fast your school has gone - I mean, for me, right?:)

Must be the moon or something, I had a crazy day too!

At least you have plenty of writing utensils to journal about it.

*hug*

Oh, I remember those days well. I hated it when I got a "B!" You will get through this, Nell. You're bright and intelligent. The classes that you hate will go away, and you will find a great job that you will love. Nursing just becomes a part of you, one that seems to never go away. I know you'll do great - hang in there!
