So Much Dust

Seriously, when you don't dust for 6 months a LOT of dirt accumulates. I know this is an obvious statement. But seeing as how I spent all day cleaning the living room, I just thought I'd throw it out there. I went through an entire package of Pledge wipes on the bookshelves and DVD's. Phew! It was a lot of work but that house looks so much better already. I still have a ways to go. The kitchen in particular needs some lovin'. And my dresser has been broken for a least a year. I'm going to have to replace that pretty soon. It might just be me but I have an obsessive need to clean when I'm starting a new part of my life. In college I'd even procrastinate by cleaning my room.

I've really been enjoying getting back to reading the blogs and commenting more. You all have a lot going on. I also watched Pan's Labyrinth. So good. Not for kids as it's pretty violent. But really amazing and gorgeous fantasy film.

I also was lucky enough to score a couple great things last week.

Wristlet

Ashley made these awesome wristlets. As you can see, it matches my Heineken perfectly. It's the perfect size for going out and the wrist strap means never having to put down your drink. YAY!

Handmaiden SeaSilk- Moss

Pam was doing a little destash because her car had some health issues. And I was lucky enough to score this Moss Seasilk. The color is perfect. (Are you picking up the green theme today?)

I also got some tea from TeaNoir. I'll be brewing Mojito for a big pitcher of iced tea this week. It's going to be pretty hot this weekend and I think this minty, limey blend will be just the ticket.

Hi new here just want to say that I really hear you on the dust and the cleaning in new phase of life thing. When my grandma was very ill and we would visit on the weekend I would come home and clean my house top to bottom, I think it is how we control and determine how we mean to go on. Sorry I rambled, really like your site.

I LOVE those wristlets and am bummed I missed out! I do the cleaning thing too, I am compluslive about cleaning, but anytime anything is going on in my life that I need to think through or maybe want to avoid thinking about, I clean.

I can't wait to see Pan's Labyrinth, it just came from Netflix and the man and I are planning on watching it this weekend.

i hate dusting, but i like it better than doing dishes!

Pan's was one of my most favorite's for writting. That movie is so so SO solid for it's writitng. Also did you listen to the sound and scoring? I didn't know what it was nominated for when i saw it and my FIRST guess was sound mixing. When i leanred it wasn't i couldn't figure out why...sound was really really important in that movie from the first frame.

I'm not normally a wristlet person, but when I saw the ones she made on her blog, I considered becoming one.

There's something about the Bay Area that makes it so dusty sometimes. I used to be good about cleaning regularly since it was my way with dealing with stress. But I knit now instead, so I need to find a different motivation to dust. :P

I hope you enjoy your time off before your classes start!

So funny! In highschool and later college I would always start cleaning when it was time to study - like I had to clean my space to really study. I still do it - I clean my office before I start a big report. Procrastination has it's benefits - clean space!
Love, love your wristlet and the moss sea silk!

great wristlet and cool yarn -- was planning on Pan's Labyrinth myself, seems it's not what the commercials would have you believe, huh? Thea (babycocktails)
